God…How can I be of service?

Back in 1994 I received a magazine in the mail from a friend, who also happened to be the editor. On one of the pages there was an ad for a church near my home at the time. The ad said “Come to our Sunday service. It’s a great place to find yourSELF”. The minute I read these words, I just knew in my heart had to go! My intuition was screaming to me to step out of my comfort zone and just do it. You see, just days before this little nudge from The Universe, I was having a conversation with God. I was asking Him what the heck my purpose was here on this crazy planet of ours, because at the time I was feeling kind of lost. I truly believe this was His answer to my prayer. And so…the rest of my life began that day!

You have a light inside…let it shine!

Those were the words the minister at the church said to me at the end of that Sunday morning service. I sat in my chair in awe of what her lesson was that day; like she was talking directly to me. I couldn’t help myself…I had to go up to this beautiful woman with loving energy and tell her just how I felt. And that’s when she looked straight in my eyes and told me I had such a bright light within me, I just had to let it shine.

Well, that innocent and thought provoking statement was all I needed to hear to light a fire within me. A fire that sparked the beginning of my spiritual journey. More than twenty years later, through the process of evolution and transformation and many layers of healing both personally and professionally, I have had the distinct honour of marrying over 1,300 couples in some of the most amazing, elegant, bizarre and once-in-a-lifetime circumstances. I have also been part of several baptisms, vow renewals and celebrations of life.

I have always been resourceful and I’ve always gone out of my way to help people. These two traits have created the perfect storm for this purpose of this website. Even though I’m no longer performing several weddings in a weekend (to be honest, I’m really thankful for that!), what I’ve learned since being ordained in 2004 hasn’t really changed all that much. The only things that are different now than all those years ago are the trends and styles. Oh, and of course technology! Where would we be with Pinterest, Instgram and every wedding app known to man? One thing still remains; most couples want a beautiful wedding that guests will be talking about for months without breaking the bank.
